The Bill (Reg. No. 2110) introduces amendments to the Law to coordinate national legislation with the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and define actions necessary for protection of the people from the influence of tobacco smoke.
It is envisaged that the central executive body in charge of public health determines boundary standards of harmful substances and ingredients of tobacco goods.
The Committee members received 114 proposals from the People´s Deputies of Ukraine whilst drafting the Bill for the Second Reading.
It is envisaged that "the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will ratify annual State Programs on Prevention and Reduction of Tobacco Goods Consumption and their Harmful Influence on Public Health, prepared by the central executive body on health care, and secure allocation and effective use of budget funds for implementation of the said programs".
